What are some practice patterns I could do to practice for Ohio Junior State Fair?
We qualified in 3/4: Eng. Pleasure, Eng. Equitation, and Western Pleasure. I chose Eng. P and Eng. Eq. Anyway, What are some state level patterns I could practice. Such as past patterns and ones that require me to think.
There's a book called "101Equitation Patterns". If you can't buy it, go to your closest library and borrow the book. They have access to libraries throughout your state and I'm sure they can get if for you quickly. It's great for practicing all kinds of patterns. I sometimes wonder if they use the same patterns for show, I could swear I've seen the same ones. Good luck. I love patterns.

What are some of your grooming tricks?
For showing~I'm planning on competing in western pleasure, western horsemanship, english pleasure, english equitation, and showmanship at halter mainly. So, what are some of your grooming tricks?
Okay, sorry~I'm talking about horses?? Lol
Shapley's retouching spray (it comes in black, brown, white, etc.) It is spray paint for horses. You can touch up any spots that aren't quite up to par. Make sure to practice before the show though. Sometimes it is obvious that you've used paint (like if your horse has a lot of longer winter hair). My horses have minimal white, and they are always clean at shows, but at longer 2 or 3 day shows, the white can get dusty or dirty in the arena and its nice to touch it up before a class.
World Champion Pepi finishing spray is my favorite grooming tool by far. It's a show sheen with a nice smell and it isn't too oily, but still adds shine to your horse's coat. I love that stuff.
To make your horse's face pop, use baby oil (a small amount) on their eyelids and ears. Put a small amount on a rag and wipe those areas. Be sure to wipe down on the eyes so it doesn't get in them.
Also, have plenty of plain rags and baby wipes for wiping dust, dirt, snot, etc from your horses face, hooves, or hind end.
I have a kit that my mom carries with her and uses right before my class to fix the little details that get messed up in warm up. We call it a "mom kit." It has the basics: hoofpick, rags, baby wipes, brush, tail brush, boot shine, and a bottle of water, etc. It's great to those absolute last minute touch ups before you go into the arena.

Sors de 2h de cours d'équitation western dans une écurie dans l'Orne. Une des pires expériences équestres. Je vais boire pour oublier.
