Style Water Canteen
Canteen Cup (Military)?
Hey, quick question, I just boiled some water over charcoal, in my military style canteen cup, but the bottom of the cup is black. Does this mean I've ruined the steel/ metal coating on the bottom of it? Is it safe to drink out of, or will the burnt metal make me sick or poison me? Just curious.
I've blackened mine many times over a fire.It'll clean up just fine.It doesn't hurt the cup or the water.I've even cooked in mine.

Where to go in Maldives/Thailand for honeymoon?
Please can anyone give any advice on where to go as we are looking for decent restaurant (not canteen style) and good facilities (water sports etc) budget approx £2,500 per person. also whether worthwhile to go all inclusive or just half board.
For water sports you cannot beat the Maldives -- best on the planet! The honeymoon resort islands are small with a "weather" side with bigger waves (for body surfing and board surfing) and the reef or lagoon side for snorkel and scuba in 2 m of water. Beyond the reef it drops to 20 m so you get to see a lot of variety in sea life in crystal clear water.
Sri Lanka is also wonderful. I have very much enjoyed the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela, Nuwara Eliya Grand Hotel near the tea plantations (home of Ceylon tea) and best of all is the Hunas Falls Resort outside of Kandy. You will spend 6 hours on narrow roads to get to these locations. These are "must see sites" in your lifetime, but for a honeymoon I would become impatient with the road trips. Save Sri Lanka for your first anniversary.
I have not been to Thailand (yet).
In the Maldives The Four Seasons Kuda Hurra is a fantastic spot. The Banyan Tree Maldives is another great choice.

the first list is much better:
Weapons – garand rifle, browning auto rifle, thompson machine pistol, grenades, M1 carbine, 1911 pistol
Ammunitation- 30-06 bullet, .45 bullet
Weapon cleaning kit
1st aid kit
Gas mask
Blanket
Helmet
A few days’ rations
Comfort rations: razor with blades, toothbrush & paste, soap, foot powder, gum and candy
Change of socks
Mess kit
Poncho
Canteen with cup
Water purification tablets- IMO only in the tropics (pacific war)
Bayonet
