What gait is my horse doing?
Ok so I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to gaited horses, and my knowledge of what the gait is goes as far as "ummm well its not a trot!"
ok with that being said, my horse is gaited but I have NO CLUE what she does. It almost looks paso fino ish but I'm not sure....

Sorry the quality kinda of sucks, my camera isn't exactly the greatest. But you can see it (kinda of in about in the middle of the video) its only a few steps when she moves from a walk but I (hope) its long enough for someone to tell.
not sure what breed, but she's half morgan.
Nope the gait isn't perfect but for the longest time I tried to actually stay away from it (I was showing hunters previously). Now that I'm not showing I'm just kind of like, " I have a gaited horse, mine as well let her actually gait"
At the slower pace your horse was doing what is called a flat foot walk around here, That is an equal beat gait with the foot fall going left rear left front, right rear, right front in an equal beat (no two feet coming down any closer together (in time) than any other. But when the horse was going faster the gait was more lateral. However, I could not tell if the horse was pacing or running walking from the video. It was too far away. A running walk would have been very smooth with the beat going left rear, left front, then right rear, right front with the hooves on the same side coming down closer together than the hooves that are diagonal. Thus the running walk is a pace that is out of time a little, resulting in a smoother ride. The pace is when they lift the feet on the same side at the same time and put them down together. The pace is rougher (not as rough as a trot from a non gaited horse but still rougher than a gaited horse is supposed to be).
And no that doesn't resemble a Paso gait. Especially not the show gaits though some of the Paso largoes can travel with a type of running walk to cover more distance at a better pace.

What are any other gaited horse breeds.?
I have Tenessee Walker, Peruvian Paso, Paso Fino, Standardbred, Saddlebred and Icelandic... who am I missing??
All of the American gaited breeds can trace that genetic trait back to the Spanish Colonial Horses landed here in 1493 and later. Most of the horses selected by the explorers as riding stock were gaited.
Their descendants are collectively known today as "Spanish Colonial Horses". Many of them are naturally laterally gaited.
In part they are, Banker Horses, Corollo Horses, Marsh Tackies, FL. Cracker Horses, Choctaw Horses, Nokota Horses, Spanish Mustang, Spanish Barb, Sulphur Horses, Kigers, Baca Chicas, Serbat, Bookcliff, etc.<<+>> Let's add Galiceno and Criollo to the list.
The real Appaloosa was known for it's smooth, mile eating gait, i.e., the Indian Shuffle. Many Quarter Horses gait.
"In 1925 Aimé Tschiffely, a Swiss teacher living in Argentina, set out on an epic ride with two Criollo horses, Mancha and Gato. The amateur explorer's goal was to travel ten thousand miles from Buenos Aires to Washington, DC, over some of the world's most inhospitable country. Their odyssey lasted two and a half years, forced horses and rider to survive through near-impossible conditions, and ended with a hero's welcome at the White House."
Is this the story you were referring to, Jeff? (Long Rider's Guild)
