Oh i also got a horse patterned blanket my sister made me.
The only horsey thing I got was a new pair of half -chaps which I really needed.
TBH I have so much stuff sitting around unused that I need to do a sale just to make room.

Why are there rules about clothes and tack at horse shows?
specifically? i'm mostly talking about english and hunters shows. thanks!
tack is my biggest question. like, why are only certain kinds of bridles allowed? and why are the kinds of bits so important?

for your upper body area:
A certified helmet in a conservative color (black/brown)
A conservative-colored riding jacket (black/brown/tweed/navy)
A riding shirt (the kind with the collar) with a stock, chocker or tie.
Gloves matching either breeches or coat
lower body area:
Breeches in a light color (beige)
Tall riding boots OR leather paddock boots with matching smooth leather half chaps matching in color.
Boots may be brown or black.
your whip may not exceed 75cm in length.
TACK
bridle:
double, pelham, snaffle or kimberwick. it may be leather, (not rubber covered, aka biothane/beta)
nosebands: any other than drop.
Saddles: any english forward type saddle that is black or brown in color.

UPDATE
the reason they want leather instead of biothane is because leather will snap before your horse will unlike biothane, and is therefore infinitely more safe.
Bits can be EXTREMELY harsh and give competitors a massive edge, so they like to try to limit the pain inflicted on the horse and unfair advantages.
As for the clothing, they want you to look respectable and have safe equipment (e.g. boots need a heel because that lowers the chance of you getting dragged)
