How much is my saddle worth?
It is a Crosby Prix Des Nations and is the same condition as this one:

I'm planning on selling my saddle and I don't want to put a price on it that's a lot less than it's worth
I traded one of my other saddles for it so I don't know the original price
I have been trying to sell that exact saddle complete with leathers, girth and stirrups. I tried 500, 400 and am now at 300 without any luck and have been selling on ebay, consignment and craigslist. It is a good saddle, but not well known now - newer crosbys are worth less than those 10 years old or more as the brand changed hands and quality dropped. I would say around 250 if it is an older saddle, 150-200 if it is newer.
Sucks as this is a nice saddle, just too many in the market right now

Crosby Saddles and Thoroughbreds: Opinions!?
Im on the market for a new saddle, and ive been told that crosby close contact saddles fit tall withered horses very well. I have a 16.2 hand thoroughbred mare with the typical long, tall withers. Shes very hard to fit! Has anyone out there had experience with these saddles on thoroughbreds? Do you know of a good brand for thoroughbreds? Ive been mostly looking at Crosby Ian D Millers, and Crosby Prix de Nations...
Thanks for your help!!!
What you need to be looking at, is a close contact saddle with a cut back head, that way, the high wither is accommodated for more easily. Take a look at Keiffer, Stubben and Albion as well as the Crosby.
