Where can I find a place that sells horses?
I'm getting a horse but I dont know where to get a horse. Do any of you people know if there's a place that sells horses in Salt Lake City, Utah or anywhere close to Salt Lake City? But it has to be in Utah! I want a foal. (a baby horse) Where can I get one? And if you know one, then can you tell me if they sell: horse food, trough, straw, hay, fences, gates, jumps, saddles, halters, bridles, mats, bits, etc.? And also do you know if there is a riding school near Salt Lake City, Utah or in Salt Lake? Thanks!
And the horses have to be under $1,000.

How do you correctly clean saddles and bridles?
How do you correctly clean saddles and bridles? Also should you directly apply the saddle soap (like spray it on the leather) or not? Also what should be used to clean bits?
You need:
-Two different sponges (one for cleaning leather and bits, the other for soaping)
-A bucket
-Warm water (fill the bucket up by about a quarter - enough to cover bits and stirrup treads completely when you soak them - stand the stirrups up in the bucket, only after you've cleaned the bit.) you may need to refill water once or twice as it can become grimy.
-Saddle soap
-A saddle horse or your knee and bridle hook or a chair. I hook my girth and stirrup leathers on our bridle cleaning hook as it makes it a bit quicker and you can easily wrap the sponge around the leather without getting tangled up in it - same goes for the reins)
-You get a clean sponge and hot water and remove any grease and dirt - don't use a scouring pad! (The sponge should only be damp so it doesn't ruin the leather - when the leather is a little dry as you're cleaning, dampen the sponge again.)
With stirrup leathers and when you strip clean the bridle, wrap the sponge around the leather and move in one fluid motion.
Don't be afraid to scrub a little and gently use your thumb nail to scrape off any thick layers if the dirt doesn't come off easily.
-Bits and stirrups can be soaked in the bucket of water to loosen up and grime so it can be wiped off. They should be cleaned with a plain sponge
-Only after this do you get a different sponge, spray (1-2 sprays) or wipe a small amount of saddle soap onto your sponge. For a saddle, you can spray straight on, but don't put too much on (if it foams, you have too much saddle soap and have to wet your sponge, wring it and wipe the tack over again.)
The best saddle soap is glycerine saddle soap that comes in a bar - I've been told to spit on it to make it went, but I just wet my sponge, tip the bar to an angle and squeeze some water onto it so it runs onto the bar and then off again and then get a bit on my sponge and start soaping.
Spray saddle soap generally adds to the amount of dirt you have. After using a cheap glycerine saddle soap (Gold Label), my tack is so much better - not at all sticky and is in better condition than before.
A couple of tips for strip cleaning a bridle
-Before you do so, make sure you can confidently take a bridle apart and put it back together again
-Try and clean in the order you'd put back together so the pieces are dry (in case you put a little too much water on) and you don't confuse yourself - start cleaning the head piece, the the browband, nose band etc)
-If your horse salivates a lot when you ride, rinse their bit either by dunking in their water bucket or running quickly under a tap as this makes cleaning the bit easier as it wont have to soak as long.
EDIt - Why do I have TD? This is the 100% correct way to clean tack and the way I've always been told. Probably got TD for the reason I usually get it - I'm British and our methods (although correct) are tough for those across the pond to handle *sigh*
