Can I use a standing martingale and a regular side pull hackamore?
I jump anywhere from ground poles to 4.5 feet.. I heard things how standing martingales are not good while jumping this high... My horse works really good in a hack. He just throws his head really high and its not back, teeth. saddle etc. Thats all been checked.. Also Could I hook the martingale to the hack or do i need a seperate noseband?
I really wouldn't use a standing martingale when jumping that height, the horse needs freedome of movement in his head to jump like that...is a running martingale no good? I'd consult a trainer and saddler on this issue.

My english saddle seems to keep sliding back!!?
My horse does not really have high withers at all (here is a pic of her with http://s294.photobucket.com/albums/mm96/hanniepannie013/?action=view¤t=148_2809.jpg and without a saddle http://s294.photobucket.com/albums/mm96/hanniepannie013/?action=view¤t=satinsnewbridle003.jpg ). Whenever I ride her, my saddle seems to slide back and sit basically in the middle of her back. She never shows any sign of pain and my girth is not loose at all!! Do I need some kind of other pad to stop this, like a half pad, or something elseee??? All I am using right now is a showpad, one of these http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp?pn=X1-19597&ids=1063927071. Please help!! I don't want to cause any kind of pain to my horse!!
Try an anti slip pad that is sold in tack shops. Worked for my round warmblood.
