Should I get a leather or synthetic saddle?
Just a saddle for regular all around/pleasure riding. I would like a leather, since I think they look more nice and are more long lasting and durable, except I live in an area where it rains a lot in the winter. And water ruins leather. Ofcourse I wouldn't ride in the rain, I would ride after, but things would still be wet....and if the saddle brushes up against wet bushes or drips of water from trees fall and land on it..? Will it ruin the saddle? Any ways to keep the leather from ruining from water? Should I get a synthetic instead?
Well, I have both. I have a very nice Circle Y and a synthetic with no leather. My Circle Y is uncomfortable, but the water hasn't damages it one bit. Although, with the cost of them I don't take chances and I recommend no one else chances wrecking an expensive saddle when you can just use a decent synthetic. I LOVE love love my cheap beat up synthetic. The seat is comfy as anything in the world, I can wear shorts in the summer in comfort, and no worries about wrecking it. I have an old Cordura. But I also have another King Series synthetic/leather saddle and it's made like crap, uncomfortable, has cheap leather on part of it... but it technically looks nicer. I gave up caring about looking nice because you can't ride pretty and that applies to saddles too.
So, give me my cheap Cordura saddle ANY day. I almost sold it a couple weeks ago, but backed out because I can't part with it. The best part is it dries fast and can't get wrecked.

Syd Hill Synthetic saddle?
Has anybody riden in or simply know anything about the "syd hill synthetic saddle range" I'm looking at getting one and just want some opinions from people

My bf has one. They are very comfortable, and I like them a lot. My only complaint about them comes from the stirrup leathers, they make it very hard to get your feet to stay in the stirrups. It's enough to drive me crazy. And I found it rubbed me a little, but that's just because I'm used to riding in my saddle.
If you do end up getting one, and you agree with me about the stirrup leathers, then you can get a broom handle and wedge it between them, so that they sit the way they would when you are riding, we did that and it made i much easier, but I still can't just swing my leg in and out of them like I can in my saddle.
