Does anybody know why a computer keyboard is set up QWERTY style instead of some alphabetical way?

I was wondering why keyboards are set up the way they are, you know:
QWERTYUIOP
ASDFGHJKL;
ZXCVBNM,.

Why are they set up like that, I think it is kind of weird and I don't know what the guy who invented it was thinking. I mean sure I can type fast on it, but is there a certain way it is like that? Please Help!

It's because the guy who invented typewriters tried to put the most used letters closest to the strongest fingers. Notice, that if you type properly, Q and Z (two of the least common letters) are at your pinky, while you type E with your strongest finger: your middle finger. Partially, this was wrong, and partially, its impracticality today is because old typewriters required strength to push the keys.

There's a more efficient system, called DVORAK, but after so many generations are good typists with QWERTY, it's difficult for the world to switch.
