I have a D link DIR615 N router. How can I set up NAS using this router and a western digital hard drive?
I have not bought the hard drive yet so I'm open to suggestions but how do you get NAS (network attached storage) working on a regular router that's connected to a cable modem and feeding a windows machine with multiple users?
The way a NAS works is just like a computer. You can think of it as a harddrive enclosure with RAID controller and a simple OS. If your router is running on DHCP which dynamically assign IP address to each device connects to it, then there is really not much more for you to setup for the NAS. Setting up access on a NAS will be a totally different issue as it depends on your NAS and the file system you will be on.
So here's topology of your network structure:
cable modem -- router -- (NAS, PC1, PC2, PC_n)
On your Windows machines you will be able to share the files from your NAS but mapping it through the IP address of the NAS.

What were distinct features of the Byzantine empire that set it apart from the Western Roman empire?

The Byzantines eventually chose the Greek language as their official language, compared to the Western Roman's use of Latin.
The Byzantines religion became known as Greek Orthodox, compared to Roman Catholicism.
The Byzantines eventually developed heavy armored cavalry as their primary battle unit, the "Cataphract". The Cataphract was used as shock troops, thrown directly into enemy units. The W Roman of course primarily relied on their heavy infantry, the legionaries.
For many years, the Byzantines were able to prevent the aristocracy from dispossessing the small land holders. The Byzantines provinces called "Themes", like the W Romans provided the bulk of the soldiers needed for the military. Eventually, the Byzantine aristocracy would also disposses the small land holders. They enriched themselves at the expense of the peasants, weakening the Themes which in turn deprived the state of needed troops.
I’m trying to remember what Schaeffer said about this….Was it? 1) The form matters. 2) The content matters. AND 3) The form must match the content. It’s something akin to this, I think.Taking music against Schaeffer’s rubric: CCM can be evidence of too much #2 and not enough #1 (though I challenge the notion that all Christian music on the radio has good theology, and I also challenge the notion that all CCM has bad form). Too much singer/songwriter stuff is #1 and not enough #2. It’s like the postmodern world loves to question things without ever getting any answers.Form matching content? This one is fluid and hard to nail down. For instance, A Mighty Fortress was written on guitar, but some suggest it’s best on organ. I don’t agree, since it was written on guitar, after all. I also am not sure, given the grand scope of Christian worship all over the world in other cultures, how much form must match content. I am still musing on this one, as well as the biblical reflections related to it.I also think we should recognize that there is no morally or culturally neutral form. To set Western classical music above other forms of music is akin to what Muslims do with 7th century Arab culture. For my musical training, Jazz is the most beautiful and complex form of music yet created by humanity. Jazz is not a typical form of music within the church. Should it be?
