I Could Use Some Saddle Sizing Help?
Hello everyone,
I could use a little help on this. So, I was looking at this used saddle for sale, it is a 17" full quarter horse bar western saddle. The gullet is 8" wide but my horse is quite narrow and would usually wear semi-quarter horse bars, although, she is only four and a half. Otherwise the saddle is perfect. Anyways, my question is, do you think it would look okay on my horse, like, would it be too bulky? She also has quite a long back too if that helps. Would padding be something to use if it was too big? I am kind of stumped, hopefully I can get some tips from you guys

I wouldn't buy that saddle for your horse. That saddle is made for a VERY wide horse like mine. Ideally a saddle should fit the horse even without a pad. I've always heard that using pads to make saddles fit better is a really bad idea.
