What do I need to to buy when purchasing a horse?
I am purchasing a horse in September of 2009. I have my own english and western riding apparel; but I need to purchase saddles and bridles. I have 4 acres of land to put her on. i also have an electric fence all the way around my four acres. What else should I need to get?????

My First Horse Show
Bridles and saddles?
I'm getting a horse sometime this year hopefully and I don't know anything about the tack I need. What's the first sort of basic saddle and bridle I'll need? And also what else will I need?
Ok, can I just say, I know a lot about horses and I have a lot of experience with them. I know all about caring for one, I was just asking what people would reccommend riding with to begin with

Wow there are some really rood comments on here!!! LOL... Mean people!
I would go to a place like chicks website, or on e-bay and look for a starter package.. For instance I got my daughter the entire set (English Saddle, bridle, bit, stirrups and leathers, and saddle pad) for $140.. and it serves it purpose.. If and when she decides to do higher class shows then I will spend the extra $$ on a nicer saddle... I got the same package when I was like 13 (quite a few years back), for $125 and I still have the saddle today!!! I use it for breaking horses to saddle.. haha
Another thing is too, if you arn't going to be competitive you can get some great package deals on synthetic saddles..
