What are hunter under saddle classes?
What are they? What do judges look for (why, if possible)...etc,?
Hunter Under Saddle is a flat class in which your horse's movement and way of going as well as his attitude under saddle is judged. A horse with poor movement, too high or low of a head, excessively fast or slow speed, or who bucks/fights the rider/etc. will be penalized.
Exactly how it is judged depends on which type you're talking about. If you do the Hunter U/S portion of a h/j division (most divisions have two over fences classes and one under saddle class), you'll see a different type of horse being chosen than you'll see if you go to an AQHA show and watch the HUS class. The "things" they look for (attitude, length of stride, steadiness/consistency, transitions, movement, etc.) are similar, but they'll want different things in each (the h/j type horses are usually more forward going with a more "up" frame, for instance).

Can you use a hunter under saddle saddle in hunter jumpers?
I have been doing this project for my riding instructor. It's comparing and contrasting different styles of riding. I've had some luck so far but I have come to a cross-road. I know that you can use a hunter jumper saddle and a jumper saddle in hunter jumpers, but can you use a hunter under saddle saddle for hunter jumpers? If you can get back to me before tomorrow that would be great!
I use the same saddle for all of my classes... I jump, then have a couple of flats... one hunters, one eq. Mine is a close contact saddle. It's not specifically a jumper saddle... jumpers saddles tend to have a very forward flap... mine only has a very small slant.
All purpose saddles and close contact saddles are very similar. As their name suggests, they can be used for all purposes. I know people who really don't like to use all purpose saddles for jumping... they don't give you the best leg position. But they can be used for everything and some people do use them for everything.
I hope that's what you meant... I've never heard of having a specific saddle for HUS.
