Best saddle pad for a mutton-withered horse?
Just wondering what the best pads are for a mutton-withered horse. I am considering a Tacky Too pad by Reinsman. Anyone familiar with these?
Should mention that I am asking about western saddle pads. Thanks!
It seems like the problem is that the pad I am currently using may be too thick. I purchased a new saddle recently (full QH bars) and am now getting dry spots behind the withers. Even with my old saddle, I am still getting dry spots. My gelding is now a 4-year-old and has filled out but is still somewhat 2-dimensional as compared to halter horses or bulldog QH's. I was under the impression that a full QH bars saddle would be fine for him. I am currently riding with a heavy duty Proffesional's Choice pad, if that helps (with felt lining). Thanks!
That would depend on what (if any) saddle fitting issues you're having. If the tree or bars are too narrow, there's really no pad out there that will correct the problem (think of putting another pair of socks on if your shoes are too tight). If you're looking to keep a saddle from slipping, the Tacky Too pad might help.

Help! Which one should I get?
I can't decide which one to get, I'm just going to use it for trail riding but I want to make sure she is really comfortable with out spending more than necessary...

Number 2 is a great pad well worth the price.
