just wondering,
what the purpose of each of these saddles are designed for,
i no most, but i would like the correct definition.
jumping saddle
all purpose saddle
stock saddle
western saddle
dressage saddle
horse racing light weight saddle
and any more i have missed please include

Jumping saddle is uniquely made for jumping and making it more comfortable for both horse and rider.
All pupose saddle is made for riding across country and occasionally going over jumps.
Stock saddle is used for riding outback, herding cattle, riding the range.
Western saddle used for comfort..riding trails, showing your horse in western classes.
Dressage saddle has a deeper seat, good balanced saddle used for showing dressage, close contact to use your aids for difficult maneuvers in dressage.
Racing saddle is extremely small and light weight for racing. You don't want the horse to carry any more weight if he is going to win.
There is also a Trail Saddle specially made to ride trail and outback country. It is smooth with a deep comfortable seat for riding many hours in the saddle.

All purpose saddles help???!!?!?
I am looking for a saddle to do some trail riding, local hunter shows, learning to jump, and possibly eventing in. I was at the tack store today (200 miles away!) and they had a TON of cc saddles. I have NEVER found a cose contact saddle that I feel comfortable and secure in. I just don't like them, and I have tried TONS. I do however love a/p saddles or deeper seat jumping saddles. Got any suggestions for those?
I don't get how you can't jump in them over high fences? Then again, I don't plan on jumping much over 3' anyways. I know, lofty goals (NOT).
