Good pair of bottoms for....?

I walk my dog lots every day. I wear jeans loads because they're casual and look nice and all I own, but when I run, walk for long distances etc, they get uncomfortable. I sometimes wear track-suit bottoms, but I dislike wearing them and they tend to get a sweaty fast and I only have two pairs, and there's 7 days. I cannot wash many clothes that often! I will wear shorts in the summer, but at the minute, its too cold to wear shorts. I'm looking for some pants that I can wear that look alright, but feel really comfy, pants that aren't too expensive so that I can buy several pairs..... something similar to what horse riding pants are like, but without the leather + padding etc. If you know any good pants that I can dress into quickly, as walks are as soon as I get up, walk for a while and be comfy, and then change easily into my school uniform that be great! Thanks
