What are the pro's and con's of owning a miniature horse/pony?
i need to know as much as possible plz, i would love to get one and my mum says i possibly will be able to get one if i give her a list of the pros and cons. Any information is helpful!

First of all, miniature anything usually have more health problems. In your case, it would mostly be colic. But miniature horses can be potty trained, and there are some reports of a mini learning how to push a shopping cart for the owner!
Okay, let's talk about you now. A lot of people automatically steriotype miniatures to be cute and cuddly and not dangerous at all. That can be true, but sometimes it is not. Would you not be scared if it came charging at you with it's eye's rolled and it snorting? It still could hurt you.
That means you should get some experience around regular sized horses/ponies so you are ready to take on a little guy.
Also, do you have enough LAND? And does your city permit livestock in backyards?? Mine doesn't.
You will need to find a good vet too. The vet should tell you what to feed it and how much etc...

Which one a Shetland pony or a miniature horse?
Ok so i have been riding for 4 years and i really want a horse but my parents thought it would be good for me to get a smaller horse and train it. I was wondering between the shetland and the miniature which one is better to keep as a first horse (basically). I have the money for it. I can keep him/her at my barn there are other minis there. I was wondering which one is smaller because i wouldnt ride it because i know both are too small. But im 95 lbs and 5"0 But still growing so im not sure. Also could you teach both tricks?
If i wanted to go to shows which one??
