External Hard Drives: Western Digital: My Book vs. My Passport?
Which should i choose?
My Passport Essential 320 GB= $80
or
My Book Essential 500 GB = $90
the passport is much smaller and lighter, but the myBook has wayy more storage. is the extra storage worth the extra weight? I'm going to use it for photo/song backup, possibly moving it from place to place. you opinions are welcome. thanks

Easy question man. I went with more storage first. Then i went with portability. I have both the myBook (400GB) and the Passport (60GB). It all depends on what you're doing at the present, what you need, and how much fundage you can $pare. Hope this helps! Oh yeah, they're both good buys. Western Digital puts out some great products with awesome reliability, no probs at all. Ext hard drive prices just keep getting lower and lower. I bought the 400 when it was $1/GB, you're lucky!

How do you tell the value of an old bicycle?
My son has an old bike that was given to him. It's a Western Flyer, 10 speed man's bike, pale aqua blue in color and very light weight with skinny tires. I would guess it to be at least 20 years old, maybe older. Does anyone have any idea how to tell it's value? I know some people like to collect vintage bikes. It appears to be original and in good shape.
Western Flyer bikes are VERY old but their lightweights are not generally collectible. Their single speed balloon tired versions do have some value if in very good condition, and their really old stuff with "gas tanks" can bring a good sum.
It is few and far between that any old 10 speed has much value- there are a few Peugeots and some weird brands like Teledyne and Exxon that are collectible but these are extremely rare as most were broken.
Almost all Western Flyer lightweights were manufactured by Huffy or Murray depending on the model while later ones were imported directly from Asia. There were also some West German and Polish models. The Huffy/Murray versions- even in good shape- might bring $20 but probably less, while the Asian models are worth more as scrap metal. If you look on the frame somewhere near the crank you might see a date stamp (5-81, for example). If it has this stamp it is a Huffy. The Murray version is tougher to determine unless I could take a close look, and the Asian versions usually have a decal saying "Made in [China/Japan/Taiwan]
