Is Stephen King appropriate for a 13 year old girl?
So I love Stephen King, he's my favorite author.
I have read:
-Misery
-Carrie
-Dolores Claiborne
-Hearts in Atlantis
-And I am currently reading The Gunslinger (Book 1 of the Dark Tower Series)
Some people don't think these are appropriate for a girl my age (13)
I'm just wondering what you think. I'm not going to stop reading Stephen King or anything, just curious.

The people whom think Stephen King is too mature for a 13 y/o is overly concerned with censorship. This wrongful approach to development is counter-intuitive, as sheltering kids only sets them up for a slap in the face from society.

Good book series for a 22yr old & 5 yr old to read together?
I want to start reading "chapter" books again with my boyfriends daughter. We've been busy and havne't gotten to lately. I think its a good way to show her that a lot of pages isn't a bad thing. (I remember in school, jumping to the back of the book and seeing 300 pages and thought that was huge lol).
We were reading the harry potter books, but I just can't get into them. I like the movies, and I want to read the books to get all the side stuff the movies leave out, but theres something about her writting that just puts me to sleep. lol.
All the kind of books I read or Anne Rice/Stephen king types, so those won't do for a 5 yr old. I'm not worried about it being too long, the longer the better sometimes, I just want something that has a good story line we both might enjoy. (I know asking for a lot huh, something a 5 yr old and a 22 yr old can read together lol)
So any ideas would be great.
