My New 6 inch silver arowana getting scared when i approach the tank?
Hi All i got a new silver arowana which is around 6-7 inch in size and placed it in a tank of size
30 inch * 15 inch * 15 inch .I have placed some gravel in the tank with the airpump and heater.
I have placed my tank in the floor.
My fish is getting spooked so easily and i was not able to go near the tank even for feeding.Else when i watch him from distant he is swimming gracefully over the top of the tank.But even when i approch very slowly to move near the tank he is hiding in a particular place even for hours and also when i try to remove the lid to put some food it it trying to jump out of water .Am so friendly to him and also fearing will it may injure when it is getting spooked.
Am planning to get a stand and place him over the top of it .will it resolve this problem and unite me with him.
Please guide me and i can do anything for him and its very urgent.

This is simple mate, and easy to fix.
He's scared of you when you go near the tank because he's not used to you. Every new arowana I get into the shop is scared to death of nearly everything that happens. It can take weeks for them to get used to people and feeding actively in front of you. Because he's on the floor, the vibrations from your approach, and anything you do really, transfers into the tank and scares him more. He could hurt himself if he gets too scared and/or stressed, but in the short term it shouldn't be a problem.
When you get the stand, and over time, this problem will resolve itself. As he gets used to you, and associates your approach with food, you'll find that he stops being scared. You'll be united in time.
