Best Knife with blade under 3 inches?
Hey guys,
Im looking for an affordable knife, whether hunting, combat, or tool knife that is under 3inches. It also must be collapsable. I often find myself needing a knife, for various things, opening boxes, cutting wires, etc. Also, I live in Detroit, and for safety reasons, I want to carry one. Please before you get all preachy, I have been studying martial arts for 11 years, I am trained with a blade, and I fully understand the laws and regulations related to carrying a knife, and defending myself with one. If you can offer any suggestions, Id greatly appreciate it
Personally, I am a big fan of CRKT blades. I owned several over the years and was very impressed with blade quality, durability, reliability and comfort. The price is reasonable too.
Kershaw blades are also at the top of my list, especially some of the Ken Onion assisted-open designs. LEEK series might fit your needs - they are great little knives. All Kershaw blades I have/had use high quality steel, are smooth-functioning right out of the box, and reasonably priced ($40-75).
Gerber makes good kinives using tool steel for their blades (mostly 440B and 440C, occasionally 420J ). The blades aren't the greatest, but are easy to maintain/re-sharpen and are priced very reasonably for most models. E-Z-Out was one of my favorite models for all-around uses even though it wasn't a one-hand open/close knife.
Also, I would be hesitant about buying a knife with Aus-8 steel blade. Sure, the steel is very hard and can be flexible, but what a pain in the a$$ to keep sharp! It seems that every time I used those blades on anything tougher than 1/2 twig, the edge would get dull and occasionally chip.
I'd think twice about purchasing either S&W or Buck knives. It seems to me that the quality of the craftsmanship has gone down over the years. This is just a personal opinion based on using several knives in the $40-60 range. Their higher-end models may still be very high quality... may be...
Hope this helps.
BTW, check out http://www.pvknife.com. They generally have a wide selection below MSRP and reliable delivery.

Will I be able to fully enter a woman?
My "tool" is unusually long at 6.5 inches.
I am a virgin.
Do you think I will be able to go all the way in?
I'm not too worried, just curious. =]
Thanks,
Charlie
Ummm....6.5 inches is not unusually long. It is pretty average actually. You should have no trouble whatsoever. Unusually long would be 10+ inches.
