Novice English Pleasure and Novice Equitation?
Just wondering what kinda of things to expect in a novice english pleasure class and novice equitation. E.G. what goes on....Trying to decide what classes im doing in a show.

The term Novice from a horseshow perspective can either mean the horse or rider. And it means that a certain number of blue ribbons has not been won. I'm unsure of the number. Once that number has been met, you are no longer considered a Novice as far as in the show ring.
The difference between Pleasure and Equitation (which would be considered different divisions) is that in Pleasure the horse and his way of going is what is being judged and in Equitation, it is the rider that is being judged. So, you could show in both of these classes. Also, I believe any age person can enter into a Novice class as long as they qualify.
You might want to check with USEF rule book if the show is sanctioned to determine your eligibility and what the criteria for Novice is. Or, contact the show secretary.

What's the difference between Huntseat Equitation and Hunter Pleasure?

Equitation is jusdged on the rider's equitation (position and grace in the saddle, etc). Pleasure is judged on the horse (way of going, appearance, etc).
