How to choose which size of saddle to buy for my horse?
I recently am about to go through with buying a horse, but all my previous horses have been sold with their tack... I have no idea how to find out the right saddle size without getting professional help!
I want to be able to walk into the tack store and buy a saddle without having to go between home & the store concerned about measurements. Any ideas?
I'm looking to buy an English saddle. * Preferably an all-purpose saddle.
People say my but is about the size of a teenager's since I'm so fit. What sizing would this fit under?
The size of the saddle depends on your size, what you are looking for is the size of the girth. If you are a young adult, 14in is your size. If older, 15in. If you know you are shorter get a size more for you. Always test the size of a saddle at the store. Make sure you fit it nicely. If the girth it comes with looks like it won't fit your horse, see if there are some longer or shorter girth sizes. Hope it helps!

What does saddle trained mean for a horse?
I have been looking at a rescue horse website to buy a horse and many of them say very well saddle trained or started saddle work/train.
Ths means your horse has been broke to carry a saddle. If they say started under saddle, it normally means the horse hasn't been ridden very long as is what they refer to as "green broke". Has a lot to learn.
