Late season deer stand location?
Right now I'm hunting a funnel that connects a cut down soy-bean field to a cut down corn field that isn't getting a lot of deer movement. Behind me is a small creek about 50 yards and on the other side is a ridge covered in tracks and acorns and at the top is thick cover that could be a possible bedding ground, I think there just staying back and eating acorns while I wait for them to come to the fields. Should I go setup on the ridge or possible even in the saddle in-between the bordering ridge and hunt there for a better location or stay put.
So with that info my final question is should I hunt 1. The ridge covered in acorns 2. The saddle next the the ridge covered in acorns or 3. Stay put in the funnel bordering the two fields?
Deer need food and water, I'd hunt the ridge of acorns over looking the creek if possible. I try to set up where I can see deer moving then later put together a game plan adjusting to where I might get a shot but my scent is blowing away from the deer and the possible bedding area. Good Luck Hunting!
