Arab endurance
whats the perfect horse????
I need to know what horse it capable of doing, show jumping, cross-country, barrel racing, endurance and Pony Club. I thought of an Arab but I ant imagen them doing barrel racing.
Any Help is appreciated

Long distance/Endurance racing?
I'm only 15, but I'm really interested in long distance races. The horse I have now is my first, she is great, but I can't go much further with her. I've been looking to get another horse, to be her friend, and that I can compete with. I haven't fully made up my mind on what I want to compete in yet. I was researching and I came across long distance racing and have a few unanswered questions.
Are there races for teens?
What sort of training will I and my horse need?
What kind of equiptment will I need for me and my horse?
What breeds do well in these races?

There are Endurance races, competitive trail, just to mention two. Endurance races can be very tough, i.e. The Western States Trail Foundation (Tevis Cup) 100 miles in one day over the Sierras.(http://www.teviscup.org)
Competitive rides can vary from 25 miles (one day) to 100 miles over two or three days.

Open to riders of all ages, horses of any breed.
Horse and rider must be in excellent condition. Both are 'vet checked' before the start, during the ride and after to insure safety and well-being of both rider and mount.
Mustangs, mules, crossbreds, pure breds, registered, unregistered, many kinds of horses compete. It's challenging and fun for all ages.
Find a ride in your area and volunteer, they always need help and it's a good way to 'get your feet wet'.
