Alamo Saddlery

Is my saddle too big for me?

I have a 15" barrel saddle by Alamo Saddlery. It is the best saddle I have ever had...it fits my horse *perfectly*...but I feel like it is too big for me.

According to online seat calculators, I should have a 14.5" seat...my thigh circumference is like 19.5" so it's on the upper end of the 14.5" seat size margin.

Here is me in my saddle:

Does it look to big for me? I barrel race and do pole bending....
Should I invest the effort into selling my saddle and buying one that fits my horse AND me?
I did not ask for an equitation critique, but I know my EQ SUCKS......I have been out of lessons for years and am trying to hire a trainer ASAP.

Not at all it looks like a good fit. The main thing is you want it to fit your horse good so he can preform, but you look like you fit well in it. You will also grow into more as you get older. I would stick with it once it gets worn in it will feel better too.
I have done barrels and poles for years been to the CSHA Show of Champions and all that and I personally would never by a saddle with a slick seat not for barrels and poles. you need to be able to sit and grip that seat if your going fast enough believe me it matters. You never see any Pro Barrel Racers with a slick seat. Hope this helps! =)
