Western Tack Shops

Anybody who owns or bought a saddle please answer?
Okay, I'm going western saddle shopping tomorrow
I'm going to a tack shop that's 2 hours out of town though so I'm not sure if I'll be able to do the deposit thing though. Sooo, any tips on getting the right fit? Or can you usuall tell if a saddle MAY fit by looking at it?
Thanks, any links would be appreciated too. Happy Holidays!
Okay, so I can't really go out there..I know horrible. Anyways, she's fairly tall, high withered, QH.
I tried my friend's on, and I'm pretty sure it hurts her, its synthetic and I'm not positive but I think it bridges on her back.
Your horse appears to have an average look, he does however have a higher wither so you should be sure that the saddle you get does have a high enough fork that when someone heavy is on the saddle there will be clearance between the blanket and the gullet of the saddle.
You should also be concerned about how the saddle fits you also. Lots of saddles can be real A$$ eaters and a lot of time you will not find that out till you have been on a long ride. The ones with the flatish wide seats are the worst ones in my opinion.
Good luck, hope you get the right one for both of you.
